My usual vendor for hardware, McMaster-Carr, doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for. I need to replace the seal between the upper and lower clamshells of my little utility trailer. The upper clamshell, hinged at the front, flips open. When closed, it fits over the lower "bathtub" portion of the trailer, with enough overhang to keep water out. The upper and lower are made of fiberglass, about 1/8'' thick. The upper edge of the bathtub is protected by a flexible channel weatherstrip. I'm trying to find new channel. The cross-section of the channel is shaped like the letter "U" (it is flipped over to install on the edge of the bathtub). It bends, and wraps around the whole top of the bathtub. The outside dims of the "U" are: 5/8'' tall, less than 1/2'' wide. The slot in the "U" is about 1/8'' wide, to accept the edge of the bathtub, and maybe 1/2'' deep. It appears to be textured white vinyl over a springy steel inner. A serious long shot finding anything like this, I know, but the resourcefulness of the folks on this list continues to amaze me. -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer.
