Not answering your issue, I have found that the times the rear AC appears to not be working, I've had a vent up front letting in outside air. Close up shop and the rear AC does a decent job (if your trip is 30 minutes or longer). Short drives, may not give your AC time enough to cool down the interior of your Westy. Here is DC the weather was up in the 90's (30s for those outside the US) last week, but this week it is the humidity (100% at 75 degrees). You walk outside and instantly start sweating. Yuck.
