I *do* consider myself lucky on that score, and hopeful that there are no long-term effects. I'm wondering if I should be pre-emptive on the coolant pipe inserts, rather than let them fail before I take action.

However, I also discovered another casualty in the bus, first noted whilst driving around San Diego. My brake booster, or a connection near there, has developed a leak. I'll try to pinpoint the leak this evening, but my brakes now feel like the ones on my old '70 Mustang...fully manual. I'll have to fix this soon, or I'll have one grossly overdeveloped set of quadriceps on my right thigh. During the voyage, there was always too much noise to hear it, but now I hear the distinctive hissing when I even barely touch the brake pedal.

It's always something, isn't it?
