Having dealt with Carol (the head honchess) at Sewfine for a number of years, I had the opportunity to meet up face-to-face for the first time at the recent VW Classic in Irvine, CA and discussed Vanagon Panels, Seat Covers, Arm Rest Covers and the venerable Carpet Sets they do for Vanagons. She really would love to do molded carpets for the front floor area, but indicated the cost factor was prohibitive and while their Vanagon customer base is growing, there just isn't enough of us out there to help defray those kind of costs. But you cannot beat Sewfine's product quality. Ya think Vanagons are difficult, try making sure you've got all 20+ pieces in the correct shape for a Karmann Ghia. Carol's indicated that Ghias hard the hardest to maintain production quality in cut and patterns for the particular year period desired and that Vanagon's are a lot easier to manufacture. -- Jim Thompson 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com ********************************** On 6/24/06, Kim Brennan <kimbrennan@mac.com> wrote: > > Outside of used Vanagons, no one makes a custom molded carpet for the > Vanagon.
