i am mulling over the idea of having my trans regeared (r+p). my mechanic in boulder, co quoted $600 for trans r+r, and $170 for the front diff. i don't know what his rate is, and he may be including a few dollars to cover the storage of my van for a week or two, and for crating. i'll probably shop for a better rate, but's not like vanagon mechanics grow on trees, even in boulder.
