I was once towed by AAA to a repair place, when my engine blew. They offered to replace my engine, but I didn't want them to. So I called AAA again. (This was in Michigan.) The AAA person said "didn't we just tow you?" I said yes.

She said (and I quote, more or less), "we can't tow you twice in a row on the same problem unless the repair place can't solve the problem. So if you tell me the repair place can't solve the problem, I'll be able to authorize the second tow."

Me: "uh..."

Her: "do you want to tell me they can't solve the problem?"

Me: "of course, they can't solve the problem." (mentally: "thank you, AAA lady!")

So I got towed again.

I thought it was four tows a year up to 100 miles each, not three.

And now maybe I should stop sending Vanagon mail and get to work???
