Subject: want a carat table in your van? then you have to use the carat
              rear sofabed..

i always love how people sell these interiors piece by piece, on ebay or samba or wherever.. just the table itself, no frame, nothing else..and when the buyer goes to install it in his van he realizes it wont work unless he has the whole deal...

The rear carat/wolfsburg sofabed is 2" narrower than the GL pass van rear sofabed, to accomodate those plastic molded sidepanels w/ the flip out table... the kit wont work if you dont install it all as one whole deal.. there is also the table frame behind the left molded plastic wall panel, that actually mounts to the B and C pillar beams and runs the length under the left middle window..necessitating a slight bend in the sheetmetal under the window for the table latch to clear it. you need the table frame to mount the table.. also if you want the table to latch correctly in the down position, you need the plastic wallpanel.. which the table recesses into, and latches into. and if you want the plastic wallpanel, you need to use the carat/wolfsburg rear sofabed because it's 2" narrower to accomodate the plastic wallpanels sticking out as i said before.. and you'll need to use the right side plastic wall panel too. and also the metal strips at the tops of the wallpanels that hold them to the wall.. and if you use the carat/wolfsburg rear sofabed, you need the square spacer brackets for the carat wolfsburg Z bed frame.. and also you will need to cut the carat/wolfsburg rear seatback latch mount standoff brackets off the donor van's wall and reweld them onto your van as the carat/wolfsburg rear seatback latch mounts have a extra spacer piece welded to them to accomodate the rear seatback being 2" narrower..

in other words, if you try to install the carat/wolfsburg sidepanel with the flip out table into a GL without using the carat/wolfsburg rear sofabed and right wall panel, the GL rear sofabed will jam up against the table and wall panel and not be able to fold out correctly into a bed....

the reason im posting this is because i have been asked many times -people just wanting the table or the left wall panel with table.. "i have a GL and it already has a rear sofabed..i just want the table" nope..it wont work. its all or nothing..

its really not that hard to install.. just make sure you get everything.. chris
