Subject: late model curtain "shelf" install query
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

Hi,

spent a few hours this afternoon installing the later type curtain/ junk trough and passenger side mate into my '82 van. I had the bits in the garage for years, smoke damaged salvage. Some liquid "vim" and pressure washing got the smoke damage out and I can replace some of the vinyl molding later.

The driver's side unit went in ok. I like the shallow trough better than the early "bottomless pit", its easier to get stuff out and won't become such a dumping ground.

But the pass side unit was harder, I had to fabricate some crude sheet metal brackets to affix the bottom securely to the van.

My question is: in the late model westies, how is the rear most curtain attached to the van? The "new" curtain track stops at the rear overhead cabinet, but that leaves half of the window uncurtained. For now I have left the old style curtain "rod" in place for that rear curtain.
