i thought i was all clever, and bought these for my interior overhead light:

the "39 x 10 mm Festoon base with 6 LEDs" fit perfectly, but require 12v,
not the 6v that is found across the clips in the lamp.  oops.  why is it 6?
is there 12 going into it, which is converted to 6 for some reason?  can i
rewire it to 12?
