Are you really sure the wiring isn't there? For the diff lock indicator lamp, if it isn't hooked up, they often leave the connector in the left rear well (up behind the pillar, where you can't easily see it, but where you could confuse it with the gas tank sending unit wiring.)

Up in the front the connector for the front diff lock is left in the middle of the vehicle, easy to find, but that in the back is well hidden if it isn't used.
