Hi all wrote a few days ago about a Clunk in the ass end of the 85 westi. Well it maybe in the ass end but more like my ass end. It seems that the Rubber insulators under the fuel tank supports and above the tank to frame had either fallen out or worn through and allows the tank to shift on sharp corners and "Clunk". Of course everything in a vw van is in the ass end so, I cut some old inner tube and stacked it under the tank support areas that were rubbing and bolted it all back into place. To late to test spin to see if it fixed the issue. But will try tomarrow. Of course I replaced the CV joint dogbone with another good used one and it didnt fix the clunk. Always something!!
