For further exercises in cooling possibilities here is some design software offered free for download by the Russian mfr Kryotherm. They claim much higher delta-T of 45C for a portable freezer they make, and roughly 70C for their raw modules. <http://www.kryothermusa.com/Software%20Kryotherm.htm> The software allows you to design finished devices with specified dimensions, heat loads, insulation characteristics etc. using their various modules. It might be able to give by analogy a good clue what would be the result of doubling the insulation on an existing cooler, too. Are the Russian modules more capable or is it the mfr's choice of insulation thickness? Either way, here's hope for cracking the 40F barrier.
