Fuel Starvation sounds like the problem then. The "fifth" injector starts it - but after that small burst of fuel is burned, there's nothing left to sustain idle. And the fuel pump is noisy.

--------------------------------- CIS does not have an engine computer unless it has a O2 sensor. This computer only controls 2 valves at idle, to adjust the fuel air mixture. IF it is a CIS-E system it then has a full blown ECU. 82 my guess is no computer at all. These are very simple.... Check the idle air valve. Then check for fuel line clogs. There is a very small filter in the fuel line bolt right on the fuel distributor. It will not run without getting it up in highrpm , which is hard to do.I am assuming the CIS has an engine computer butI haven't located it yet in the vehicle. So does anyone know how CIS works, or any idea onthe cause of the symptoms? It ran fine 300 milesand, this has gotten progressively worse. It has a Pertronix ignition.ThanksRobert__________________________________________________Do You Yahoo!?Tired of spam? Yahoo!
