Problems solved. Tank installed.

Craig Morton <rangermorton1972@yahoo.com> wrote: Ok, I have the old fuel tank out but have a couple of questions for installing the new one. First, what is the best way to get the small lines going to the two expansion tanks connected? Looks like the PVC vent line will have to be in place before the tank goes in. Then do you bolt the tank in and somehow reach over/through all the clutter to connect the lines? Surely there is another way. It would seemingly take a contortionist.

Also, the tank re-seal kit ( $85 for $15 worth of parts) came with cloth covered hose and two worm gear clamps (looks like eight are needed) ..... will these worm gear clamps work in securing the supplied cloth covered line to the small diameter plastic lines already present in the system?

This re-seal kit, BTW, does not include the gaskets for the two fuel expansion tanks. Everything supplied with the kit was not needed in my situation and one of the gaskets not supplied was the culprit. The gasket that was bad on my van was the one that seals the gravity vent valve (found on the opposite side of the vehicle than depicted by the Bentley manual.) The part number for this gasket is N90100501 and the cost is $4.23. I could have saved the $85 for the kit had I torn the system down before ordering. But of course we all know the problem with doing that.

TIA

Craig
