I doubled the cooling capacity of my stock 90 Vanagon A/C by adding a 24k BTU condenser, in series with the original one. You can hang meat in my vanagon now in 100F weather without an issue.

I haven't gotten around to removing the dash to re-seal the fresh air vents, which are leaking in a big way. It's tough to keep the interior cool when hot air is blowing in replacing the cool air in the interior. Once I do this it will be amazing.

I strongly recommend the 2nd condenser, it's a huge increase in cooling to the van, and it's "free" (no additional power or strain on the rest of the system) once you pay for it. The unit was around $350 (dual fan, relays, etc), with a few hours for the installation.
