Subject: fair price for engine transfer?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

I just picked up an 87 vanagon gl with 30k on a new 2.1 engine that I'd like to put in my 86 snycro that currently apparently has busted cylinder head studs.

Anyone have a guesstimate on hours/cost for the switch? - I think the switch is beyond my capabilities at this point, though I'd love to watch the mechanic do it. (and i wouldn't ask too many annoying questions!). If I had the resources I'd have Karl throw a TDI in the syncro but I'm still saving my pennies for that project.

cheers,

chris
