Subject: CIS Vanagon engine conversion Question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Since I moved back home I can't find my manual and I have little understanding of Bosch CIS fuel injection.

This is an 82 Jetta CIS in a 82 Vanagon, formerly Diesel.

The symptom: It starts up runs a few seconds and dies. It will not run without getting it up in high rpm , which is hard to do. I am assuming the CIS has an engine computer but I haven't located it yet in the vehicle.

So does anyone know how CIS works, or any idea on the cause of the symptoms? It ran fine 300 miles and, this has gotten progressively worse.

It has a Pertronix ignition.

Thanks

Robert
