Subject: new brakes bleed five times still spongy
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

have the newer audi 285mm front brakes and new drums . . been bled four or five times so far . . . still spongy . . . at times . . . haven't driven much yet . . . mechanic said either maybe master cylinder or the brakes need to be driven a while then rebleed ... anyone experienced this ? ? ?

I remember I had a bmw, got new rear brake pads then a leak of fluid occured which ruined the pads . . this was a cylinder seperate from the master, which was replaced at one point too . . . so on the vanagon, is there another cylinder beyond the master cylinder, I ask this because the wheels I just changed from did have some seepage of something that permeated at around the center cap.. . . thanks

And really: what I'd like is the bigger brake master cylinder that fastforward.ca made mention of . that with an audi 280 or 288mm rotor you'd be able to stop on dime . . . that would be something, but I have no idea what the source or part number for this master cyl would be . . is it audi vw or ....
