Suggest that you read the MSDS on Freeze 12 at www.freeze12.com/pdf/6030.pdf John ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chasteen, Jonathan M. MM3 (CVN69)" <chastejm@CVN69.NAVY.MIL> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, July 03, 2006 12:56 AM Subject: freeze 12
Before I joined the Navy I was an automotive service technician in texas. I did A LOT of A/C work every summer and WILL NOT touch freeze 12. I will convert to 134A all day long but some cars it just wont work. My 85 GL is going to get recharged with R12 after I replace the coimpressor drier and expansion valve and replace every seall in the system. Now the thing about Freeze 12 is it is PROPANE based. A news station back home once serviced a car with freeze 12 and made a small leak in the evaporator. They ran the car for 30 minutes or so all closed up and had a mannequin inside with a cig and lighter. When the made the lighter ignite the whole interior became a fire bomb and exploded. Just something to think about. I smoke so no freeze 12 for me Jonathan |
