Gotta agree there....
A buddy has a 79 westy and a 2001 New Beetle. Owasco quoted him (With
a straight face) $700 in labour  to replace the driver's side marker
light housing. He did it himself in about 45 minutes after 20 minutes
of web research. They also quoted him over $250 to swap a headlight
element.
