I've been using Freeze 12 in my '91 Westy for about 3 years now with no ill effects. I do lose the coolant over the year and have to recharge. But I had that happening after about 7 years of owning it from brand spankin' new. So I just keep charging it and one of these days I'll cough up the $$$ for a new compressor, evaporator and whatever else it needs. It works pretty much as well as R12.
