Subject:      cigrette lighter  or silver socket - amp problem with air
              compressor

I'm not very good with understanding amps....my air compressor which I use
through cigerette lighter doesn't reach back tires well.  I got a 10 foot
extension to put in lighter outlet but can't use since it's only 8 amps and
my air compressor says it needs 10 amps.

Then decided to get euro plug so I could convert silver socket to cigerette
lighter but this part only comes in 8 amps, thus I would again have a
problem using my air compressor.

Is there a work around to this or perhaps I am misinformed about amps....
