Lisa,
No need to unsubscribe. You can set your Vanagon account with Gerry to
"No Mail" and that suspends your account, rather than closing the
account. This is the preferred method when you are just going to be away
for short periods like vacations, business trips, etc.
Send a message like this:
To: listserv@vanagon.gerry.com
Subject: (leave the subject line blank)
Body text : SET NOMAIL
Click the send button.
That should do it.
Upon your return, send the same message but in the body text it should
read SET MAIL
These are listserv commands that are pretty useful. You can get a list
of them by sending the message HELP to the listserv as well. These are
all auto functions and can be of use if not benefit.
Enjoy your trip.

I failed to anticipate that people would choose to reply to me off-list, since I am not that familiar with the workings of it. I was a member for a while last year and just re-signed up about a week ago when I sent out my messages. My bad for jumping in without understanding the custom of replying to vacation inquiries via pmail.

I get it regardless of whether the person fills out the little form or not and read through all messages. Strangely, all of my mail from the list is going first into my filter box - the computer must be reading it as sent from the individual rather than the list. I did not have this problem when I was a member before so I am not sure what is going on but if every time someone is posting to the list they are getting this message from my spam filter I will just unsubscribe and when I get back from vacation I will figure out what is going on.
