Folks, So, last night we had two newly-found friends over for dinner here in Boise. The guy noticed the pictures of my westy on the wall and said, "nice, i've not camped in mine for a long time." Thus began the story.... Turns out he has a '91 westy with only about 40,000 miles on it stored in a garage. Purchased new in Wisconsin, but immediately driven to California where it was used lightly, then to Boise where it went into storage. "Yeah," he continued, "it's nice... you know, that dark blue color.... manual transmission." I tried to remain calm. Soooooo, i'm trying to be helpful... you know, in case he decides to let it go cheap to somebody who'd use it as camper :-) For a vanagon that has sat, weight on wheels, indoors, in Boise (bone dry, but hot) for over two years with no prep beyond removing the battery, what procedures would all y'all recommend for a "restart?" Thanks! -jspeer '89 Westy - "Mystery Machine" |
