I already ordered the seal kit and and new sending unit (which I assume will fix my inaccurate gauge problem) and have been doing some research on new tank vs. re-sealing the old one. From what I have come to understand, really cleaning out the old one is probably not possible due to the screens you mention. Is that correct? I know of no way to clean that screen short of cutting open the tank and then welding it back together. Seems to me better to buy a new tank ! I assume the screens would also complicate re-sealing. I found a thread over on Samba where one guy (can't remember who) claimed that replacement tanks were all crap and therefore it was better to clean and re-seal your old one. I think he might be a lone voice, however. How can I be sure the replacement tank I buy is of decent quality and has no internal screens? Replacement tanks crap ? Crappier than the OEMs with a built in screen that cannot be cleaned and a rubber hose that craps out ! What a joke that is. No idea on how to find out what's in a replacement tank. Anybody got a small camera or they themselves small enough to get in there. I've been trying to figure that one out myself. Trust the vendor ? Try to contact the manufacturer - no luck so far ! Maybe someone else has some valuable information ? We are all waiting !
