I have a Ricon model R30A wheelchair lift, that is currently installed in an '86 Vanagon. It is electric-powered, made primarily of aluminum, weighs 150 lbs., and has a lift capacity of 800+ lbs. It has the optional slider door opener, and wireless remote control. It works perfectly well, except the door opener mechanism binds some, due to a less than optimum installation. I have the original installation and operation manuals. The lift installation itself doesn't appear to require any modifications to the Van, other than drilling some holes, and running a wire & solenoid to the starter battery. Besides wheelchairs, this lift can easily help load and unload engines, transmissions, gold bars, etc. If seriously interested, please P-mail me. I'm in Texas. Thank you. Cary
