I just got back from my plater who clear cadmium plates my oem hardware for the tilts I sell. Minimum order is $50 which will do at least 700 pieces for me ($1200 cost of hardware).

So unless you are doing huge quantities, it is not economical, but does look really nice, is rust resistent, & makes steel looks like aluminum, which the og hardware was, but is not made that way now.

So save up as much stuff to plate at once, in order to keep the per unit cost down, although any threaded piece is problematic as the plating changes the thickness of the threads, etc. & you will have a very hard/impossible time putting a nut on the bolt, etc.
