I don't know the switch setting, but I have always been taught that roughly speaking, the maximum an air-conditioning system can lower the temperature from ambient temperature is about 30 to 35 degrees F. So you need to know what the outside temp is to compare with the outlet temp of the AC duct. In your case, I'm guessing 82 to 87 degrees F was ambient temp?
