I have the factory one on my 84 Westy, going on 8 years now. Cupholder stability is best for soft drink cans, not much else. Factory style is smaller and not hinged like the EuroCampers one that Steve sells. I've never used one of these, so I cannot offer an opinion on it.

The factory one is held onto the dash with Velcro/Double Stick tape (provided by VW no less) so it can be removed for cleaning the dash and the console. They were available in Black or Saddle Brown to match and the vacu-formed plastic is quite durable, no warping at all. Like Ron said in an earlier post, the 85-later with raised padded dashtop requires trimming the plastic for proper install & clearance (unless you wish to mount it over the Ashtray area). -- Jim Thompson 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com ********************************** On 7/12/06, Dana Showers <dshowers@cpds.net> wrote: > > Can anyone provide feedback on this? > > Overall quality (including the hinges)? > > How usable the cup holders are? > > thanks, > > Dana > 85 Westy 1.9td > 04 Beetle 1.9tdi
