All this Freeze 12 talk and the fitting sizes got me interested so I did some checking. Interesting reading.

http://www.freeze12.com/ This place has the Freeze 12 fitting sizes listed http://autorefrigerants.com/co00031.htm

Here is the only place I have been able to find what sizes r134a requires

http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1674978

>>Service fittings - These are used to add or remove refrigerant, or diagnose the system with gauges. R-12 uses a screw-type service fitting. R-134a uses a quick-release type. In order for a conversion to be done properly, these fittings must be replaced as R-134a equipment is required to use these quick-disconnect fittings. <<

Freeze 12 requires (?) screw ons and 134a quick release.

If you interested in the 12 to 134a swap here's what the epa says about it http://www.epa.gov/ozone/title6/609/

I had my '87's AC on today, I opened the back windows too <g>.
