It sounds like you need to get an original from a parts van ... LOL.

The coils in my '84 and my '85 are factory originals and are still doing fine.

I'm converting my '84 to the '85 style distributor cap so I can use the later sparkplug and coil wires and have obtained a "Previously owned" OEM coil to complete the change over.
