Subject: changing auto trans fluid - amsoil?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

HI - Given the extra power of the Subie I thought it best to change the filter, seals and transmission fluid. I want to change it all so I need a way of emptying the entire system including the torque convertor so....

* how best to get all of the fluid out?

* Amsoil has two Dexron II compatible synthetics -- universal synthetic and torque drive synthetic. Anyone have experience/suggestions here?

* Anything else I can do to help the tranny while I've got the pan off? I do see that the governor cap is seeping a bit so I plan on replacing that seal. Any adjustments, cleaning, that can be done with pan off but tranny still in van?

thnx
