Bah! You people always want to do things the EASY way. Besides, if I fix it with STRING it'll no longer be stock and we all know what THAT does to the value of a Vanagon. Actually, I just finished JB-welding a piece of plastic to it (nice and flexible, cut from a phone jack wall plate) in the same shape as the original hook.
