Subject: clutch chatter in reverse
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Hello collective wisdom,

As the subject line says, I'm experiencing occasional clutch chatter when in reverse. No noticeable problems in forward gears - drove 300 miles yesterday at 75 mph, then had vibration backing away from my garage.

The archives of this and other lists suggest the following: - loose engine mounts - worn needle bearing - main seal leak

Anyone have other opinions or things to investigate?

The clutch and related parts are about a year old (Luk heavy duty kit), with about 10K miles on them. The van is a 1991 Multivan with a syncro transaxle.

Thanks,

Joel
