This is a good point & considered in the same light as the off-road ground
clearance
vs the stripped plug
stuipd links let the community consider how stuipd but its good you pointed
this out
for the general community to consider

ps. not sure what size of curbs you got where you live but here witch 6 inch
curb 1 wheel on the curb other on the pave ment
I sill go good clearance for that plug

so I had to dremel out the recess so that I can get a socket on the sd-2 but
now
its proud on the oil drain just the height of the brass dust cover just over
1/2"
so I am not concerned about it catching low ground ...
