I just did this recently.  I bought the pieces from Gowesty and it
was a half an hour job.  My 5 year old now rides in comfort and safety!
The parts I got from them were VW OEM if I remember.  You have to
drill a hole in the rear panel to bolt it on but the new piece covers
it nicely.
