There is a big difference between your in line 4 and the SVX. You also have a lot of luck and cruise at low speeds to get 26 mpg.

I got news for all of you. My (getto cruiser) Syncro, with my specially built inline 4 cly. just did a woping 25.6 MPG, over a 300+ mile trip this weekend, AGAIN. This is the second trip I did this. This weekend I was hauling rail road ties. (Man are this things heavy). I had a hunch a few year back that gas very never going down, that why I built it. It take selecting the right engine with the right gearing. Forget performance. This thing runs like an old bus. Dependable, smooth, never misses a beat, 80MPH on flat, but will bog down on big hills. NOt rocket sicence.

Maybe a 5-10% improvement mostly due to better technology. The Syncro is a relaticvely high friction machine and the wind resistance is the big fuel consumer. It would take a really well tuned, driven gently Diesel to see that type of mileage sometimes. > >Dennis > >----- Original Message ----- >From: R & R <shawn@REEFANDRAINFORESTDESIGN.COM> >Date: Tuesday, July 18, 2006 10:43 am >Subject: window trim optional? > > > >>1) Can I remove the old cracked window trim (spreader), or will water >>get in around the rubber and cause rust? >> >>2) I'm planning to convert my 87 Syncro to an early 90's Subaru >>WRX.
