I finally got around to fixing my leaking axle flange yesterday afternoon.

The outside wall where the seal sits had two pretty good scratches. One was small and probably inconsequential, but the other went all the way from front to back and was deep enough to where I felt like it was the culprit.

I used a little bitty paintbrush to apply a tiny, tiny bit of JB weld to both spots, smoothed it, let it cure, and reassembled.

After a trip up to Lookout Mountain and back last night to get it nice and hot and see what was what, no leaks (at least not yet.)

The side benefit was having the Vanagon up on jackstands so I could check all of my coolant and heater hose connections, fuel lines, wiring, motor mounts, exhaust, etc. from the Subie conversion to make sure everything still looked good, and lo and behold, it does still look good!

Thanks, List, for all of the help and suggestions.
