Interpret that statement to mean there's more profit in the Panasonics than the MB Quarts!! Any unscrupulous car audio dealer can stick the right resistor in the expensive speakers' crossover to make them sound like crap when A/B'ed with another brand(simple volume differences can also do this). When shopping for car audio, it's best to listen to the speakers you are considering in a vehicle very similar to the one you're going to install them in. Same could bwe said for the amp and source material components.

I have only heard good things about MBQuart, but they, like Focal and Boston Acoustics, have lesser and higher end lines to purchase. It's possible to spend well over $2k on MB Quart speakers. I bought a pair of $300 6.5" 2 way Focal speakers with separate tweeters and made "room" for them in the door panels and after stiffening the door panels internally and adding the Dynamat to the steel, I am very happy with them despite the fact they're made in France. They have handled the Rockford Fosgate power very well.

God luck on whatever you do.

I've always heard that MB Quarts were good... the guy who sells them here, said he actually likes Panasonic better and that the sonics have a bettter ie longer warranty... > >Going to use the four inch tweeter and mid together design...
