Wrong bulbs or fuses. Each fuse operates both high beams on one side. 15 amps if using proper bulbs.

I just did a search of the archives on this, looking for "fuse" in messages with the subject "headlights". When the lights don't work and the blue hi beam indicator is on it's a bad ground, usually at the cluster behind the fuse box. This has sure been covered on the list before...

My problem is both my high beam fuses burn out, both of them. The regular lights are fine. I was wondering if there is a 'best' place to start searching for the short?

I tried the archives but all I found was 'the lights don't work, the hi beam light is on" problem and "it was the ground behind the fuse box" answer. I didn't read past the first 50 posts ....

Rob becida@comcast.net '87 Vanagon Wolfsburg... with no hi beams in western WA.
