Got a curious electrical issue that y'all may be able to help me with. My 1987 Syncro Vanagon suddenly lost headlights the other night. Neither hi nor low beams work. The fuses are fine and the light switch on the dash turns the console lights on and the running lights on. The curious thing is that the blue high-beam indicator light on the dash is stuck on. No amount of clicking the stalk on the steering column will get the high beam indicator to go off. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Benjamin, could be a few things. Head light switch and/or ignition switch and/or ground wires on fire wall behind fuse box, all very common problems on the Vanagons. Check the archives and you will see. You really should install a relay kit to alleviate this problem in the future. See my _Vanagon Headlamp Relay Upgrade_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/hdltrela.htm) webpage for details.
