Hi Maggie,

I just recently joined this mailing list.

I have an 85 westy with the stock rear AC. Haven't had a chance to check the archives, but I'm dying to know where you got the in-dash ac?

Thanks

Tommy

I just returned from a trip to Oklahoma and back to Santa Fe with temps ranging from 62 as I left SF, to 109 in Oklahoma. The dual AC, newly converted to R134a, worked as well as could be expected given the extreme heat in Oklahoma. Without the front AC, I doubt it would have been tolerable. While in Oklahoma, when there was no shade to park in, interior temps got very high, even with windows and skylight slightly open, and there was no point in turning on the AC for a short trip to the store. When I was able to park in shade - or use the AC early in the morning - I was comfortable. Driving back to SF I did get a little warm when the afternoon sun began to blast into the front windshield. Now I'm planning for window tinting to give me more of an edge in the battle against outside heat. The only problem I had was water (condensation?) leaking down under the dash on the passenger side near the door. Guess I will check that out this week.

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions on my AC woes.
