I grew up in Mississippi and lived there except for the 3 years of school until I was 36. Now 56. I was very active, bicycle racing in my 30's, etc. Construction work and serious competitive tennis in the summers when younger.

The heat and humidity don't bother me that much, if I stay hydrated. I drank lots today. In general, it is much hotter and lots more humid there than here in Baltimore. But, the air is much dirtier / more polluted.

It was the quality of the air today. Sometimes when it is bad here I get this different feeling from just getting overheated and / or dehydrated. That was what I felt today.

But, my Vanagon, now has the passenger power window unit lubed and back in place and the Thule cargo box and Yakima bars that I got from Karl Mullendore via Larry Chase and the original Roadhaus are on top of my Syncro. Did a few other things also. I am getting it ready for a trip from Baltimore to Moab where the humidity is so low that the "real feel" temperature readings are lower than the actual number, and where it was cooler in actual degrees and "real feel" today than in Baltimore. Since we are trying to leave Saturday, not working on it isn't much of an option.

I am fine now after retreating for a few hours. Will try to install the radio tonight.

Hopefully get hoses tomorrow so that the Vanagon AC will work from the Ford compressor.

Sam
