The ground, check the ground. The high beam indicator is telling you the switch is turning on. The main lights do not have a ground path except through the high beam indicator. Not enough current there to light the main bulbs. Both lights share the same ground connection at a cluster above the fuse box. It iwll be corroded or melted. Separate, use new crimps, and repair. You can also relocate the grounds right at the headligths cutting the brown wire and grounding to the screws that hold the buckets in place. Done right, this is an upgrade. Dennis
