Hi Paul, Thanks for the response, Maggie Dew emailed me photos of how it is installed in her '85. I went right out and cut the opening in the bottom of the seat storage area, and then pushed the seat into position in the van. I was expecting it to stop short due to the heater duct, but it went all the way in. Hmm, seemed to be a long distance between the heater outlet and the front kick panel. Then I realized that the heater unit is mounted on the next floor rib forward in the Westy compared to the non-westy models. I didn't get that right away from the photos. So yes, it does take up a bit of room. Thanks, Dave
