Ok, so I really don't know. I don't see the point in keeping your windshield in the car if you're in an accident great enough to send it flying. That VW eliminated the chrome strip in later model Vanagons looks like loosing the windshield is'nt an issue except when hitting a Volvo. And how often does that happen?
