I don't know anything about the Vanagon List Yahoo page, but if folks are
forced to sign up with yahoo to use it (and log in each time) they might not
care to do that- but I dunno, maybe you can show us what you mean.
I set the Wiki preferences so that anyone could see it, but you'd have to
create an account/log in to edit it. Sorry I should've mentioned that. I
believe once you've logged in once it'll remember you as long as you haven't
cleared your cache. Anybody can create an account and edit it at this point
but if it becomes a problem (spam, or 'vandalism') I can restrict it. I
thought about just having a 'list registration' along the lines of user:
John password: Wallace but I thought it might be better if individuals
logged in so we could follow who was doing what, just in case.
The create account/log in is in the upper right hand corner, to answer one
question- it isn't all that obvious actually.
To answer another question, the Freecycle system my wife uses is at
www.freecycle.org , you then find your local group or create one if there
isn't one.
To post, you'll create an account and log it, and click the 'edit' tab at
the top. You'll be editing the main page. Please leave the Test/instructions
there for now, we can elaborate or expand those later.
Perhaps we should agree on a format for posts? How 'bout the first poster
come up with something with the basic info and we'll work it from there if
it's necessary. I realize most folks wouldn't care to give to much personal
info (like an address), so- Date, approximate location, what it is (what
specific vehicle?) etc.
Cya,
Robert
