When I bought my '85 the gas gauge didn't register at all. I needed new seals at the top of the tank so when I ordered them I got a new sender for the tank. Now the gauge works ... sort of. When I fill up the gauge shows full or sometimes very nearly full. After about 10 miles it registers 3/4 tank and continues to fall faster toward 1/2 tank than I think it should then slows to where it hits the red mark after I've used about 11 US gallons. I haven't looked into it further. Mike Houlton, ME Zoltan wrote: > I wonder why. I'm not sure if it is the sender unit or if there maybe other problem. I know, sometimes the floating end falls off of the arm of the sender unit. But there could be something that I may check and it would work without taking out the tank, etc. > Zoltan > |
