spell check or lack of is what mangled the infrared comment. Any ideas Ken?
Zoltan, the resister idea is not bad but I'm really trying to determine if
my temps are healthy or not plus I would have to really "play" to find the
correct value. There has to be something else causing this as there is
little to fail in the system, correct?. Most of my evidence points to OK
temps but i'm just not sure. I really don't want aftermarket VDO gauges
sitting on my dash. Especially when the VDO peeps couldn't even confirm
which sender the van has it in! They sent me tables with 10 different sender
ranges. I asked them which to buy and they said I would have to install a
matching sender unit for the gauge. Doesn't seem to me the "generic" senders
I see for VDO gauges would fit in any way. Do you guys use the vanagon
sender or put in the sender that comes with the VDO gauges? Does anyone put
a water temp sender somewhere else in the system?
Regardless there has to be a solution!
Any list members running 6/8 or 7/8 and know they have a correctly running
system?
Lastly for those that feel me spending money on parts that are not necessary
as being a good preventive maintenance, I just don't agree. If we want to
take that logic one step further I won't be driving a van as replacing a 20
year old van with a another vehicle would make to much sense!
