A  couple of words for follow-on to your blog. First, save the pump  
that came with the lantern for extreme emergencies. Spring for the  
$7.00 inflator and use a CO2 bike pump or a regular bike pump. Watch  
carefully for the red line on the lever. Don't overpump! If you do  
you'll spring the bottom out on the lamp and it won't stand up steady.

I also admire the nice nickel finish, but  neither this--nor the  
multifuel capability--are the prime reasons for owning and operating  
this lamp. It's the LIGHT it puts out. Coleman lamps and any other  
portable lamps short of a generator and floodlights can't hold a  
candle (so to speak) to the Petromax. If you want enough light for  
four  or more people to sit around comfortably and actually READ and  
SEE what they are eating, this baby is the ticket like nothing else.

I could run mine on diesel but I run it on kerosene. I don't like  
carrying gasoline inside the car.

After you use it a few times, you'll find the procedure easier, of  
course. It will never be easier than a Coleman, but the Coleman will  
never be as bright.
